Abstract
Purpose: This study was planned to know a serial changes of plaques in abdominal aorta by reviewing abdominal CTs taken over 5 year interval in same patient

Materials and Methods: We had reviewed abdominal CT angiographies of 104 patients who had been studied between Jun-10-2012 and Jun-10-2013 in Chungbuk National University Hospital and they had history of CT scan more than 5 years ago. Plaque changes were divided with 3 groups (stable, extended, active) according to activity. The relation between plaque changes and factors associated atherosclerosis such as coronary artery diease, diabetes mellitus, hypertension) had been studied.

Results: The proportions of stable, extended and active plaque group were 39.4%, 44.2% and 16.4% respectively. The mean age of active and stable group was 73.8 and 71 yers. But there was no statistical significance. The incidence of ischemic heart disease, Diabetes mellitus and Hypertenision was 20.2%, 26.9% and 17.3%. There was no statistical significance between plaque changes and these disease. The secondary change like aortic dilatation was found in 5.7% but There was no statistical significance between groups.

Conclusion: Atherosclerotic plaques had been changed in a more than half cases. We presumed that plaque changes may cause aortic dilatation or obstruction. We can confirm disease process with observation in a longer interval.
